Boils are very disgusting, painful and embarrassing they can go from a pea size to the size of a pickle jar lid if not treated properly. Below I will discuss what can cause boils, spread them and how you can treat them.
First let me start off by saying I am a college student, like a million other people. I have a diabetic mother. I stress over tests and I try to workout at least once every 2 weeks. I am also natural so I like trying new products and taking vitamins to aid my hair growth. Sounds pretty normal right? Well all of these things have helped cause and spread my boils. The most common places to get boils are often under your armpit, buttocks, eyelid (sty). The most famous place on my body was my buttocks. Why is that? Because of the TOILET!! Yes the toilet. The toilet holds so much bacteria. If you have a big family that is one place you want to be pretty cautious about. In my house hold my brother and sister do not get any boils but my mother being a diabetic introduced them to us. With her not body not being able to fight off bad bacteria she becomes more susceptible to having them reoccur. Anyway, the toilet is often times the culprit. As you can imagine being exposed to any ones feces or pee can be a skin irritant. Your skin needs to breathe and to be cleaned to effectively protect your body. When exposed to dirty substances, chemicals, or infectious people you can get it.
What can cause boils:
Boils start off as little pimples, that hurt, you may scratch or even try to pop. PLEASE DO NOT POP. I have made that mistake many times. It will spread like wild fire. How do you know it is a boil and not a pimple? Many times you can feel around the pimple and see if there is any tension or pressure. If you do decide to pop the pimple, there is another way you may be able to tell. In the early stages it will not have puss it will have clear liquid. Usually pimples have white puss and the head is easily identified (black head).
How you can spread boils:
- Not washing Hands after playing/ draining/ treating the boil
- Using toilet that is not cleaned after infected person or "unclean people" This could also be from athletics
- using same items as infected person
- Sharing clothes/ intercourse
I had one major out break of boils and I had over 40. Not at once, I had about 8-10 at a time on my buttock and thighs. It all started from one boil, not properly washing my hands and BIOTIN. Around this time I would pop them and drain them because they would hurt so bad and my skin would stretch and I needed to relieve the tension. Draining your boil is very risky. Once I realized I was spreading them, I then started to use tissue. The tissue did not help much. It actually created another boil right next to the boil that was already there. everything was trial and error and I was willing to try anything because I had so many. I was trying alcohol on some, hydrogen peroxide on the other, many antibacterial cremes, many pain relieving cremes, heating pad, a change diet.
How to treat Boils:
- Do not experiment with any and every drug. Many will irritate, burn.
- keep covered with bandage
- warm cloth can remove temporary pain but may cause boil to get larger before it burst. (Would not recommend although many doctors recommend.) This causes pain and makes it sensitive to touch especially if you are trying to get dressed in the morning.
- A change in diet can help new boils from forming. Vitamin C and A is a plus. 2 Apples a day and you can honestly see the change.
- Clean surrounding area with cloth/ cotton ball/ Q tip. You can use alcohol but it will burn. (Put dirty washcloth in a dirty bin do not use twice )
- After cleaning Use tea tree oil and cover up. Next morning it should drain and It should be ready to be cleaned again.
- Get rest. So important if your body is trying to heal itself.
Tea tree oil helped me get rid of My boils within days. NO MORE OUTBREAKS OR PAIN. THANK GOD FOR NATURAL OILS
To get rid of boil in a day:
To get rid of boil in a day:

Biotin Causes Boil outbreak :
I have done some tests on myself to see if this was true and indeed it is. But only if I already had a boil. It has shown that if I take biotin while already having one my chances of getting more are greater and I am even more at risk to having large break outs. When I stopped my biotin I healed quicker. I have done this with dosage of 10,000 mcg; 5,000 mcg; 2,500 mcg; 1,000mcg and my body reacted the same, So I tried to take a generic Family Dollar brand of 1,000 mcg and my body still reacted the same. So If you are on your hair journey or you need biotin for a medical reason I would refrain from using biotin if you have a boil because it makes the outbreak worst.
However if you increase your intake in green leafy Vegetables you may have a lesser chance to getting outbreaks.
